Patachitra is a general term for traditional cloth based scroll painting, based in West Bengal, Odisha and Bangladesh. In Bengal the potuas mainly based on Midnapur, it else few artist we found in the villages of Bankura, Purulia, Howrah, 24 Parganas .
They use natural colours for the painting. Chalk dust used for white color, pauri for yellow color, cultivated indigo for blue, bhusakali for black and mete sindur for red.
Tried the art by Narul potua, Nayabad, Midnapur on Kerala cotton sarees.
The out come became so beautiful that Norul Potua take many dyed Kerala cotton saree from me for his personal and few ordered saree.
All sarees take a month to finish.
